Draco concept art

Draco has gone through a range of diffrent styles in terms of how the character will look.
Before we set on a style for the game, Draco started off as a heavly realistic looking character. We later decided that the style would become the Japanese cartoon art style known as manga, beacuse of this the game moved from a RPG to a JRPG, regarldess of the change, I was able to covert Draco to his new Manga form.
Even thought the picture takes on a more realistic look, it was done this way in order to plan for the character, taking aspects from his more realistic version I created this to give me some insight to how he will look in general.

This was a quick silhouette concept piece to show how one of the games many landscapes will look. the art features all the main characters including the generic, main character, this character was scraped down the devolpment line, when we wanted to chance the generic main chracter as in typical Japanese manga and animes the main character is always seen as a normal build person, often young and attractive, by making Draco the main character we saw a diffrent feel with the game as it still looked like a JRPG but felt more western.Draco's apprance is a lot more rugged compared to common protagonists, often characters such as Draco are seen as support character or the couter part of the comedic duo. Draco does take on some charaistics of a laid back protagonists, Take Luffy from The One Piece, this character is laid back and somewhat of a jokester while he possess powerful abilitys, I wanted Draco to act like this, and by making him a lazy drunk, I have taken away any serious personalty his apperance might have on people.

Luffy from One Piece.
Draco's apperance was heavly inspired by Nordic type character, often found in fantasy video game. I took aspects, such as the hight of the character, the build of the character and the common apperance. In most games, the Nordic characters are featured to be hunters or Warrors, that carry large 2handed weapons, are large framed and often sport beards and long hair.

Here are some weapon ideas I came up with for Draco. All of the weapons are 2 handed swords, as this is the weapon choice of my character, I wanted the designs to seem realistic in the sence that they could be made in the real world.

This is Draco's finish design.
